Therapy

Radiofrequency Therapy, also known as RF Skin Tightening, is a non-invasive, anti-aging procedure used to help reduce wrinkles, increase collagen production, and improve the skin’s overall appearance.

Radio Frequency Therapy

Radiofrequency Therapy, also known as RF skin tightening, is among some of the most popular non-invasive face ‘lifting’ procedures available today. Best known for its firming powers, Radiofrequency treatments directly target the visible effects of skin ageing such as wrinkles, sagging, dehydration and surface roughness. This cutting edge technology is suitable for patients of all skin tones and types who wish to restore damaged, lackluster, or stressed skin without the risk of hyperpigmentation.

The term "radio frequency" refers to the thermal energy delivered by a device with the intention of causing controlled injuries in the dermis. This triggers the body's innate healing response, resulting in the production of the skin's natural structural components like collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. This skin regeneration improves skin laxity and increases cell turnover causing the skin to become smoother and firmer over time. Along with sculpting sagging facial contours, RF treatments may also be used on the body due to its skin-tightening and fat-reduction capabilities.

Why treat skin using
Radio Frequency?

Collagen is the most common protein in your body. It creates the framework of your skin and gives your skin its firmness. As you age, your cells produce less collagen, which leads to sagging skin and wrinkles. Skin laxity occurs around age 35 to 40 when the quantity and quality of your collagen begins to decline.

Radiofrequency is a safe and effective FDA-approved anti-aging procedure that works on nearly everyone to rejuvenate skin and rebuild collagen. Unlike surgical alternatives, RF treatments cost a quarter of the price of traditional skin tightening methods, only take around 30-45 mins to complete and allow individuals to return to their daily activities after the procedure.

The benefits of Radiofrequency don’t stop at the face and neck area. This pain-free procedure may also be used to contour the body, smooth out stretch marks, remove stubborn fat and improve overall skin tone. The process gives deep, controlled heating to the fatty layers under the skin, which means that superficial fatty deposits can be broken down and drained through the lymphatic system, reducing the appearance of unwanted cellulite.

  • When patients ask, does radio frequency tighten the skin, the answer is, it does! Radio frequency therapy can be used on many areas of the body, including the face, neck, arms, abdomen, buttocks, and legs, to tighten the skin. Patients will be able to see some skin tightening effects of the treatment immediately with improvements continuing over time. In one study examining the effects of RF treatment on skin laxity, researchers found that all 11 participants saw an improvement in skin laxity over time with 73% also seeing an improvement in facial contouring.

  • While RF skin tightening does not provide permanent effects, the procedure is very long lasting, as it utilizes the body’s own anti-aging process to decrease skin laxity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment does provide long-lasting results, with effects of the treatment still seen up to two years following the procedure. When you notice the onset of looser skin, you can schedule a maintenance appointment in order to maintain the results of the treatment.

  • In order to see great results, most patients only require one radio frequency skin tightening treatment per year. The effects of the treatment become fully visible over time – typically between two and four months post-treatment – as the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin increases. Results are long-lasting – with the effects of the treatment visible for up to two years – and patients can better maintain results within that timeframe by following the appropriate skincare regimen, which includes keeping the skin hydrated and always applying sunscreen when going outside between the hours of 10am and 2pm.

  • RF skin tightening is a treatment with long lasting results, as it works to trigger the body’s own natural healing process to increase collagen production. As a result, the effects of the treatment can last for between one to two years before patients will start to notice increased skin laxity again.

  • Radiofrequency treatments are safe and effective and typically associated with minimal, mild side effects.

    Common side effects include:

    • Redness

    • Swelling

    • Mild discomfort

    • Crusting

    • Soreness

    • These side effects are usually temporary and should resolve within a few hours or days after the treatment.

  • In order to maintain our high standards of safety and to maximise your results, we've listed some important information below which you should familiarise yourself with before you commence your treatment.

    • Avoid any facial peels 4 weeks before treatment

    • If you have any open sores, acne, infection or skin sensitivity in the area we cannot treat with RF.

    • It is normal for the area to feel warm immediately after the procedure.

    • The treated area may be flushed, red and feel tingly

    • Do not wax the treated area for 3-5 days

    • Do not laser the treated area for 2 weeks

    • Do not exfoliate the skin for 2-3 days

    • If the skin feels hot or sensitive, apply aloe vera or a cold compress to the area

    • Apply SPF 30 daily

    • Drink plenty of water

    • A review of your progress is recommended after 12 weeks during a scheduled Follow Up appointment

    Give Your Body Time

Immediately after the treatment, you may notice that your skin is firmer and its texture is lifted. The full effect of the treatment generally takes around 12-weeks to kick in, and through this time, you will continue to see a dramatic improvement in facial contouring, and a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

    At-Home Product Care

When you come in for your treatment, your Therapist will provide you with details on appropriate skin care options to help boost the results of your treatment.

SLIM + SMOOTH + TONE

Radio Frequency Body Contouring Treatments

Radiofrequency body contouring heats the skin to over 104 degrees which safely and comfortably minimizes the appearance of cellulite dimpling and fatty bulges, while simultaneously tightening the skin and improving the contours of the target area(s). At the deepest level, the RF alters the network of connective tissues that hold the fat cells in place, pulling them closer together so that the cellulite does not bulge out and create the well-known rippling we associate with cellulite. RF also targets the fat cells themselves, causing them to shrink in size, which has the effect of slimming down the target area.  Finally, RF energizes the body’s own natural responses by stimulating the lymphatic system to aid in the drainage of unwanted toxins and encouraging the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin to reduce skin laxity, strengthen the skin, and improve the physique of the target area. The final result of this powerful deep heating is a slimmer, more toned physique. This procedure is less invasive than liposuction and patients feel little to no sensation while under the electrodes and applicator.

How does RF Body Contouring work?

When used on the body Radiofrequency Therapy can help to contour and tighten the skin, remove unwanted fat and improve overall skin tone without surgery or downtime. This pain-free procedure reduces cellulite, boosts collagen production and gets rid of fatty deposits that fail to go with exercise. Monitor Visceral Fat Levels

Our treatments target only stubborn subcutaneous fat, but not visceral fat. Visceral fat is the deep dangerous fat around the organs that can only be influenced through diet, lifestyle (sleep, stress) and exercise. It is therefore important to keep a close eye on your visceral fat levels through the course of the treatments – eat a healthy, balanced diet, keep active, drink water, sleep and manage stress levels.

If your lifestyle changes in a negative way, your visceral fat cells can expand and you may put on weight all over the body which can greatly impact on the success of your treatments. Non-surgical fat reduction treatments work to destroy stubborn subcutaneous fat cells, so if you are expanding your visceral fat cells (as a result of living an unhealthy lifestyle), you will compromise the results of your treatment.

An InBody 770 body composition scan will be conducted before each treatment to help ensure you are on-track to achieve the best results. We also encourage our clients to drop-by the clinic in-between treatments to conduct regular complimentary InBody scans to help keep you on track.

    Stay Hydrated

All of our treatments are non-invasive which means that no needles or cutting is involved to remove the fat from the body - instead, the fat removal happens through your body's natural waste disposal processes via the liver and lymphatic system.

Hydration plays a critical role in how your body manages these processes, and in particular, water helps to facilitate the removal of dead toxins, which is why staying hydrated after your treatment is so important.

Your Body Contouring Specialist will calculate the right amount of water you should be drinking as a minimum for your age, weight and height, after your InBody scan has been completed.

    Follow Your Treatment Course

During your consultation, our trained specialists will work with you to develop a tailored treatment plan to help you to achieve the best possible results for your concerns.

We will use our experience and expertise to be able to provide you with the closest guide possible when advising the number of sessions required. Not following (or completing) your treatment plan will directly impact the effects of your treatment.

    Give Your Body Time

The average clinical end point for our treatments is around 12 weeks from each session. This is because the body needs time to flush out all of the liquified fat cells NATURALLY.

In most cases, more than one treatment is needed to achieve the desired results - and maintenance sessions may also be required in the future. Some clients see results a lot quicker than others, however this will vary person to person. Non-Surgical Body Contouring is a process and we are with you the whole way. All clients receive complimentary InBody Body Composition Scans through their program to help monitor results and keep you on track.

    At-Home Product Care

At Elite Body Contouring, we are big believers in applying the correct post care products to help accelerate your results. We use HYDROPEPTIDE Skincare, a Dr Developed Range that utilises powerful peptides in the latest formations for ultimate anti-ageing. Your Skin Specialist will recommend appropriate skin care to help boost the results of your treatments.
