Plasma Pen fibroblast therapy is a relatively new approach to anti-aging that targets the collagen-producing fibroblast cells of the skin. Similar to laser skin resurfacing or microneedling, plasma pen treatments create microscopic wounds in the skin that trigger the body’s natural healing process resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin that improve the skin’s appearance from the inside out. Results of plasma pen treatments include a brighter, more contoured, and more youthful appearance.

Why treat skin using Plasma Fibroblast?

The Fibroblast skin treatment is a superficial “surgery” that delivers equivalent results of more evasive and costly surgeries. No scalpels or any other surgical equipment is required. There are no risks involved, such as stitches, anesthesia, bruises, or extended downtime. The results are heavy duty skin rejuvenation and years of the unwanted signs of aging reversed.

Plasma Skin Tightening is one of the very few cosmetic procedures that utilize plasma in order to instantly tighten, shrink, and eliminate excess and loose skin. This treatment has also been proven highly effective when used for Tummy Tightening, Pigmentation Removal, Eye Lifts, Neck, and Full Face Lifts, Acne and Stretch Mark Reduction, and more.

  • Plasma pens are handheld devices used to tighten mildly sagging skin, improve acne scars, and reduce the overall appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is often referred to as "fibroblasting" since the treatment increases fibroblast cells, which are responsible for producing collagen.

  • It depends on the state of the clients’ skin and the desired degree of correction. This varies on the individual as most will see benefits immediately after the first treatment. Different individuals have unique skin and thus, will react differently to the treatment. The procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated, so 6–8 weeks after the procedure. Generally 2 sessions are required.

  • Fibroblast-Skin Tightening is a NON-invasive procedure with minimal level of pain. It is virtually painless, as the treated area is numbed before the treatment. After the treatment the treated area might be slightly reddish and some patients may experience some swelling (only for areas around the eyes) . At the site of each spot a small crust will form. They should not be touched and you should wait for 4–5 days for them to fall off naturally. During the procedure the clients may feel some discomfort, not actual pain, depending on the treated area of the face/body.

  • First, the technician will be applying a topical anesthetic cream which will ensure guest comfort. This will minimize any risk of pain or discomfort. The cream will sit on the client for 45-60 minutes depending on the treatment area. The duration of the treatment including numbing time is 2hr-6hr. This will depend on how large the area is being treated, for example treating stretch marks on the stomach will take additional time compared to a lip or eye treatment.

  • The lasting effects of the procedure are similar to that of invasive surgery. On average results last from 2-5 years.

Benefits from Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening can be effected by lifestyle factors such as: smoking, drinking and prolonged sun exposure. Results can be seen immediately and will improve as collagen and elastin continues to produce over 8-12 week healing time period.

  • As with most minor cosmetic procedures, patients usually see minor side effects 5-10 days after the procedure. It is typical to see swelling of the treated areas, especially the eyelid area. It is crucial to follow the after care instructions, to avoid side effects and to get the most optimal results. You can expect to see little brown dots (scabs) on the treated area. These scabs will begin to fall off by itself at around day five.

Edema (swelling) of the skin may occur and can be minimized by keeping the area upright.

Urticaria (itching) often times occurs as the old skin is shed and the new skin is being formed.

If any of the above symptoms intensify, your clinician should be notified.

Discomfort, especially a sunburn feeling, may persist for a few days.

PIH or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (browning) and hypopigmentation (lightening) have been noted with Plasma Pen procedures. These conditions usually resolve within 2-6 months. Permanent color change is a rare risk. Vigilant care must be taken to avoid sun exposure (tanning beds included) before and after the treatment to reduce the risk of color change. After the skin has gone through its healing phase and is intact, sunscreen and / or sun block should be applied when sun exposure is necessary.

Infection is not usual after treatments; however, herpes simplex virus infections around the mouth can occur following treatments. This applies to both individuals with a past history of the virus or individuals with no known history. Other signs of an infection can be a fever, purulent (pus) material, severe redness, swelling in the area, and skin that is hot to the touch. Should these symptoms occur, the clinician must be notified to prescribe appropriate medical care.

Allergic reaction is uncommon from treatment. Some persons may have a hive-like appearance in the treated area. Some persons have localized reactions to cosmetics or topical preparations. Systemic reactions are rare.

After your treatment, you will receive a post care starter kit that provides you with a week of your daily after care regimen.

    • Avoid any kind of tanning (Spray tanning, sun tanning and tanning beds) for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, you should try to use SPF5O to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker skinned. You may even wish to consider using a natural Tyrosinase Inhibitor to help ensure there is no overproduction of pigment in the skin aka hyperpigmentation.

    • Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area which you intend to have treated with Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox, fillers, as this may prevent your treatment being performed by your technician at the time you want it.

    • No facial acids (Retin A, salicylic, glycolic) 14 days before or 21 days after Plasma Pen.

    • No Botox or fillers 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.

    • No Micro needling/PRP 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.

    • No laser or peels (depending on intensity of peel) for 90 days before or after Plasma Pen.

  • You will be given after care instructions and an after care kit. You must follow the provided aftercare protocol to expedite the healing process. Follow-up treatment may be performed after 8 weeks depending on your skin’s healing.

  • Absolute Contraindications to Plasma Pen include, but are not limited to:
