January Monthly Newsletter

Why January Is THE Perfect Month to Work on Your Skin…

Those of us in the aesthetics industry often refer to January and February as “Ugly Season.” This month and next are the perfect months to schedule any skin treatments that require downtime. The holidays are over, and most people plan on spending minimal time in the sun during these colder winter months. Even in Florida, most of us are not going to the beach or pool, which are no-no’s after most skin treatments. This means you can book more invasive skin treatments such as lasers, HIFU, and microneedling and be out of the limelight and the sunlight for a week of recovery.

Microneedling is a non-surgical treatment that uses tiny needles to improve the skin’s appearance. Minimally invasive, it can reduce the appearance of acne scars, stretch marks, large pores, and wrinkles, and it works to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling can be done on the face and all over the body. Here at Beauty Unfiltered, we recommend scalp microneedling for clients who are suffering from hair loss. Got stretch marks? Our Carboxy Tummy Treatment paired with microneedling of the abdomen is a great combination treatment to combat stretch marks and crepey skin. Interested in our Ultimate Custom Beauty Unfiltered Facial? They all include microneedling of the face. You should avoid sun exposure before this treatment because it can significantly irritate your skin during the procedure, leading to inflammation and increased redness. After the treatment, your skin will look red and “injured,” so it is best not to have important events, trips, or any type of photography scheduled for about one week.

If you are looking to tighten and firm the skin on your neck, underarms, tummy, love handles, back, knees, or thighs, our HiFU body contouring treatment might be right for you. January and February are the perfect months to start these treatments to be bikini-ready by April since treatments come in packs of 2 and 4 and must be spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
